What did the Dallas Mavericks think of Jim Jackson when he played for them?

From 1992-93 to halfway through 1996-97, Jackson looked like a star in the making as one third of the Three J's trio of the short lived Three J's era. When he wasn't being a rookie contractual holdout in '92-'93 nor dealing with the severe ankle sprain two seasons later, what was he like on the court and in person?

I believe if his injury never occured, Jim Jackson would've went on to become a superstar rather than an injury-riddled journeyman with supposed bad attitude problems. Why was he sort of a hated person in the locker room even though he never got arrested nor had brushes with the law?
