What's in a name?

Every night, I hear my brother go into the bathroom. I hear him close the door. I hear him lock it. Then I hear him say hello.

Every night. Just "hello." Sometimes "hey." But only that, a single word.

He's probably calling someone, I always thought.

So one day I asked him, "why do you make phone calls, in the bathroom, at night?"

"Not phone calls," he said with a slight grin. "I'm greeting him."

"Greeting who?" I asked, smiling back, thinking he was joking.

He then told me its name.
