[IDEA] Quick fix for the junky Gym update
After the quick fix, it now takes 8 hours and 20 minutes to collect 50 coins from 1 pokemon in 1 gym, and half that time for 50 coins for every gym you have a mon in.
As a Valor member with insomnia, I venture out at 2 in the morning and collect gyms. By 9 in the morning I already have maxed out the coins I can earn that day.
It is no longer worth fighting over more than one gym. Because the limit prevents me from earning any more coins.
Heres an idea that may fix the problem, but also increase the incentive for physically visiting the gym throughout the day and defending it:
First of all, remove the coin limit; the limit is a tool so that Niantic can make more money through in game money purchases. Its smart for a company to do this, but when its not done correctly its shit. Well, its not correct right now.
Next, when you visit a gym that your mon is assigned to, there is a counter at the top showing how many coins have been earned thus far. When you place a mon in the gym, you automatically get 5 coins added to the counter.
You earn 1 coin for every 15 minutes the mon is in the gym, or 4 coins per hour. This sets a nice stability so Niantic isnt losing sales.
Finally, the most important aspect: you must spin the wheel at the gym to collect your coins. If your mon gets kicked out before you get to spin it, no coins for you. You can spin right after you assign the mon and get your 5 coins, or risk it and wait, but reap a greater reward. After you spin, your coins still collect at the same rate, but the 5 initial coins are removed.
A trainer would have to visit their gym multiple times a day to defend it and collect their coins and feed berries.
Thoughts?
