Raid - Flee during battle

I was reading a comment from another user stating that if you flee during a raid battle you are able to heal and return to the same fight.

can anyone confirm?

In my first raid a group of us joined as the timer was about to end and got stuck with the default selection, so knowing about this in advance would have been nice.
