The 'Champion' gold medal for Raids won. Is it even worth it?

So from what I've seen it's going to take 1,000 Raid wins in order to achieve this gold medal. Assuming you are able to complete a raid every single day using your free pass it will still take almost 3 years (if my quick math is correct). Yes you can go and buy a raid pass for 100 coins and do more. But with the current Gym system you can't even get more than 50 coins a day. If you're lucky and people are taking your gyms down instead of just leaving them there making you unable to collect any coins. So to even make this medal close to doable you need to put in your own money. This isn't even taking into account spending a ticket on a raid in which nobody shows up making it a wasted ticket.

Sorry if this is coming across as a rant. I just want to hear everybody else's views on this.
