Downhill flowing rivers

We all know rivers in Minecraft. Flat, long, narrow strips of water. Booooooring. How about, in select biomes (forest, extreme hills, taiga) there be rivers that slope downward, just for a little more variety. Starting from a source uphill (+70ish blocks) and slowing travelling down to either another lake or the ocean. What do you think?
