Photoshop trial crashing with RAW files. Should I buy it?

I used to work a lot with the older PS versions and obviously my crappy computer was always able to keep up.

Recently I got back into photo editing and decided to download the Photoshop CC 2017 trial to edit my RAW files from my DSLR. Now I noticed that sometimes it would stop responding and crash. I think it's during editing at some point but sometimes it works just fine.

I have the same problem with Lightroom, that 3/10 times it stops responding and hangs itself. I haven't been able to test the video editing software yet.

Does anyone have similar experiences with the trial? Will it get better with the full version or is it a waste of money since my computer is just too crappy for it?

TDLR; programs stopped responding or were lagging heavily during editing in trial version. Still worth buying full version?
