How to get your ETH back from Poloniex
Hello everyone, I have noticed many people posting here recently that they have been having trouble withdrawing from Poloniex. In many cases, people will withdraw their ETH and almost immediately see that the transaction has been completed according to the Poloniex withdrawal history page, but not receive the ETH at all and find nothing upon searching the transaction ID on a blockchain explorer. It seems like ETH withdrawals and deposits on Polo are having lots of issues, but for those of you that have already gone ahead and tried doing either and are now facing issues, I have a simple guide that should help a bit (this worked for me, and helped me get the problem resolved within a couple hours of sending the ticket).
First of all, you need to start a support ticket. Go to this page: https://poloniex.freshdesk.com/support/home and register an account so that you can get a ticket started regarding your issue. Bear in mind that the support page for polo requires a different login, and that you will have to register a new account on it before you do anything else on there. Once you have registered a new account on the support page and gotten it verified, go back to the home page and select "New support ticket." From this page, put in as much information as possible regarding your withdrawal or deposit troubles.
Now here is how you actually get your ETH back, this is the important part. Write your ticket like a formal letter. Yes you read that correctly, you want to write your "description" of the issue just like you're writing a letter to your grandma, or your employer, or the president. By doing this, first of all, your ticket stands apart from the other ones, especially ones from rude or frustrated customers. Additionally, the positive attitude and professionalism you treat the support staff with will motivate them to address your issue faster, as they will treat you as more of a person like how you are treating them. If you are a complete jerk to the support staff, of course they won't help - this is to show that it goes both ways.
Start off with a polite and formal introduction:
"Dear Poloniex Support,
Good afternoon, I hope that you are having a nice work day."
Something as simple as that really sets you apart from the constant complaints and tickets that they get over there and will almost definitely help you get a response faster.
Then, explain the issue at hand in a precise but detailed manner:
"I am contacting you today regarding a withdrawal issue I have encountered on your website. At (time) I attempted to withdraw (amount of ETH) ETH to (wallet address). Unfortunately, despite the transaction being marked as completed and a transaction ID of (ID) being listed for the transaction, this exchange has not yet appeared on the Ethereum blockchain and I have yet to receive the funds in my wallet."
That's basically it, just explaining to them what the problem is so that they can get right in there and resolve it.
Then you want to finish up with a kind note and a thank you, to make sure that they understand you enjoy the site and appreciate their support, but really want to be sure to have this problem fixed.
"Thank you for taking the time to support me in resolving this matter. I have always enjoyed trading on Poloniex and look forward to using your site more in the future. I understand that you are very busy and that many others are having similar issues that you must help them with, but any assistance in recovering these ETH to my wallet or ensuring the completion of this withdrawal would be immensely appreciated.
I hope that you have a nice night, thank you for your help.
(Name)"
And yeah, there you have it. Sent in a ticket using this method and just addressing the matter in a polite way, and I got my ETH as well as the ticket resolved just a few hours later. For those of you who have been waiting a while to get your problem solved, go ahead and try it out, maybe it will help you recover your ETH faster. If not, god help you.
