Description of problem
Hi, I have a dated computer that I build a few years ago and unfortunately I'm having problems to turn the "computer on". All the components are out of warranty.
Everything began after I overclocked the CPU, got to windows, passed some stress test, and after I turned the computer off, I had this problem when I tried to turn it on again the next day.
When I try to boot, this happens:
-
After I press the Power button the PC and Video Card fans turns on.
-
I hear a beep that according to the MoBo manual means that the "System Boots Successfully."
-
Then I see an splash screen from Gigabyte, (similar to this one http://www.ocinside.de/assets/cpu/intel_unlock_overclock/intel_unlock_overclock_32.jpg)
-
An finally I see a black screen, like if the monitor didn't receive any signal (tried different monitors, VGA and HDMI).
-
I already tried leaving the computer like that for an hour with no change.
-
Also, when the screen is "black" the computer shutdowns intermediately when I press the power button.
Recurring issue
Yes
Under Warranty
No
Cause/Steps to recreate the issue
Happens every single time that I try to turn the computer on.
What I've tried so far to resolve the issue
I already tried to reset the CMOS and tried to force the Backup BIOS (following instructions from the manual).
Also I tried taking out the battery for a few minutes with no change.
I tried to take all the components and boot bare bones, only with MoBo, GPU (no onboard graphics), CPU and 1 stick of RAM, and I get the same result (keyboard dont work, black screen after POST)
I tried using a PS2 Keyboard, as the USB keyboard lights doesn't turn on on any USB port.
So far nothing worked. I suspect that it might be a hardware issue, either the MoBo or CPU, but as I dont have spare parts I'll like to see if there is anything else that I can try.
