1 year since I started using synthesizers, but still having workflow issues

Last year I decided to start getting into synthesizers. I got a Blofeld, Keystep and Circuit to get started creating music. Unfortunately I haven't really been all that productive in creating or performing anything.

I am not sure if I am not getting the Circuit or if it just isn't the right tool for the job. I like using the grid to sequence and writing sequences with it is really great. But once I have got the sequence done it's like a brick wall and I run into the problem apparently a lot of people have, which is not finishing anything I start, I have got a whole bunch of incomplete ideas on it. There are only two synths track, which I can at least kind of circumvent by hooking it up to my Blofeld and using multimode. And there is somewhat limited ability to chain sequences and I just don't seem to be very good at working within the limitations. And with the keystep, well it's sequencer has a lot of the same issues as the Circuit, though I can at least press keys to transpose the pattern. I find myself running out of keys on the keyboard. It feels like I can't really do much beyond make a short bit of music that plays on loop.

I am kind of not sure whether I am using the wrong tools/methods for the job or if I am just not realy getting how you are supposed to use these things. I see a lot of people on youtube using stuff like volca, pocket operators and small keyboards to make music just fine. But maybe it's just because they write music that already happens to be suited to the devices.

I am probably going to need to make some changes to workflow anyway, because I want integrate my desktop computer to some degree to at least record audio. But I am also kind of just getting a little confused in general at this point with how I should be using my instruments and tools to help me make the music I want. I haven't really seen much in depth explanations on how I should really go about using all this stuff to write, record and perform music.

Anyone have any tips on using proper workflow? How do you use your synths to create music.
