How the hell do I get an upgraded long iron?!

I have tour 2 and 3 clubs for everything but my long iron and putter, and it's impossible winning shootouts and nailing those mid range fairway shots with the beginner long iron. At what point do I get to upgrade? Is there a specific metric I need to reach? I'm relying on my opponent to make a bad shot or two just to win in Asia Pacific just to win a game in that level 😠
