(Spoilers Main) Wyman Manderly and His Plans

MAIN

Hello people!

The Grand Northern Conspiracy is one of the most exciting theories that we are all looking forward to seeing how it will turn out! So there's something I want to discuss with you guys about The One And Only Lord Wyman Manderly and his plans/actions.

First of all I want to focus on the three songs he requests at Ramsay and (f)Arya's wedding and their possible meanings

(1) Rat Cook - this is quite straightforward. Violation of Guest Right, missing Freys and the three huge pies that he himself serves and eats! And the point here is that a very clear political message is being sent. And it's received. After all, Roose doesn't eat anything he doesn't see Wyman eat.

This leads me to the other two songs that he requests:

The Lord of White Harbor was the very picture of the jolly fat man, laughing and smiling, japing with the other lords and slapping them on the back, calling out to the musicians for this tune or that tune. “Give us ‘The Night That Ended,’ singer,” he bellowed. “The bride will like that one, I know. Or sing to us of brave young Danny Flint and make us weep.” To look at him, you would have thought that he was the one newly wed.

So, does this mean that the other two songs also have deeper meanings?

(2) The Night That Ended - all we know of this song is sung in Clash

Much later, after all the sweets had been served and washed down with gallons of summerwine, the food was cleared and the tables shoved back against the walls to make room for the dancing. The music grew wilder, the drummers joined in, and Hother Umber brought forth a huge curved warhorn banded in silver. When the singer reached the part in “The Night That Ended” where the Night's Watch rode forth to meet the Others in the Battle for the Dawn, he blew a blast that set all the dogs to barking.

Now the interesting part here for me is that Wyman specifically says this would be liked by the bride, he knows. Why would he say this? Why would (f)Arya like this song? Is it because he think it might offer "Arya" some solace knowing that there is still one of her family remaining? I don't think so. I say this because of his next choice of song. What do you guys think?

(3) Brave Danny Flint - this song is about a girl who disguised herself as a boy to join the Night's Watch but ended up raped and murdered. This could very well be about Jeyne who is disguised as Arya and who ends up getting raped and facing a tragic fate. So does Wyman know that this is not the real Arya? I think he does. The interesting point to me in this situation is that, could this be about Jeyne's fate at Ramsay's hands or... does anyone think the Northerners would be forgiving of a girl pretending to be a Stark? Once again, I don't know.

An interesting commonality in all three of this songs is that they feature the Night's Watch in some way or the other. A reminder to Roose that one with Stark blood still remains alive? A warning that the Black Bastard at the Wall will come for Arya with all the might of the Night's Watch?

Secondly, Mance.

Up near the dais, Abel was plucking at his lute and singing “Fair Maids of Summer.” He calls himself a bard. In truth he’s more a pander.

Another interesting thing here is Abel/Mance. Before Wyman calls for his songs, Abel is playing "Fair Maids of Summer". Why sing about Maids of Summer when the bride is supposedly a Winter Maid and a Stark at that? Poole is a Northern house, true. But may be Mance doesn't know that this girl is a Northerner. This would imply that Mance knew that this was not Arya Stark. Another thing to be noted here is that Mance is pretty smart. In fact Quorin Halfhand mentions that he was the best of them. If this is true, Mance has pretty good observational skills. When Jon "joined" the freefolk, the question he asks Mance is if he noticed where he was sitting in the hall of WF, which is what leads Mance to accept Jon. So it's not a stretch to say that he observed the fact that out of the Stark children, Arya was the one who looked different from the rest. The one who looked like Ned. Isn't it likely that he wouldn't put two and two together and work out that this bride with her wrong eyes cannot be Arya Stark? It's highly likely.

Could Wyman and Mance be working together? Another point of interest:

Lord Wyman Manderly had arrived from White Harbor two days past, traveling by barge and litter, as he was too fat to sit a horse. With him had come a long tail of retainers: knights, squires, lesser lords and ladies, heralds, musicians, even a juggler, all aglitter with banners and surcoats in what seemed half a hundred colors.

ACoK

It's very odd that the Lord who has even a juggler does not have a singer.

Lord Manderly had brought musicians from White Harbor, but none were singers, so when Abel turned up at the gates with a lute and six women, he had been made welcome. “Two sisters, two daughters, one wife, and my old mother,” the singer claimed, though not one looked like him. “Some dance, some sing, one plays the pipe and one the drums. Good washerwomen too.”

How convenient. I mean, what are you doing Mance? You are supposed to be looking for a girl on a dying horse, not come to WF! But if Mance knows this is not the real Arya why bother?

I used to think that Ramsay wrote the Pink Letter, but now I firmly believe Mance wrote it. Specifically because of the stealing element in the Pink Letter (kudos to u/G-Girl95 for noting that!). It's a very wildling way of thinking that got translated into words. So one of the purposes of the Pink Letter was to provoke Jon into riding South along with The Night's Watch. Well that worked - sort of. But why would Mance want Jon to come South? My suggestion is this:

If Mance and Wyman are working together then it is Wyman who wants Jon to come South. But just as with Mance, the same question arises. Why would Wyman want Jon to come South? This is very tinfoil-y, but I think that Wyman knows of Robb's will. Lord Robett Glover is already at WH. And we know that Lady Mormont and Lord Galbart Glover were on their way to Howland Reed. What if, Galbart was able to contact his brother? We know that Wyman wanted Davos to get Rickon. I speculate that Wyman's good mood when he comes to WF is because he got to know through Robett that Rickon was safe and secure. Therefore if Wyman met Mance before he entered WF, he has time to make his plans to get Mance inside WF (Note that the WH has never been raided by wildlings, so it is unlikely that Wyman has the same hatred for them that the Umbers have). By this time Wyman would not have known that this bride was fake. He has one Stark in his hand and now he has the ultimate chance to get another Stark into his hands or rather safety's hands and also to get Robb's heir to come South (Of course, this is assuming that Robb named Jon his heir). After finding out that the bride was fake, despite not having another Stark, Wyman found the perfect way to expose Roose. To rob Roose/Ramsay of any claim whatsoever.

I don't think Wyman would ever kneel to anyone that does not have Stark blood in them. And I don't think any of the other Northern Lords will ever kneel to a Southerner, which is what Stannis is. Wyman played Davos. Wyman's intention is to avenge his son, restore Starks to their former glory and to do his bit for his King, The Young Wolf.

So what do you guys think of Wyman's Songs and their deeper meanings? And of his actual plans? Am I totally wrong and is drowning in tinfoil? Let me know! Just, no rudeness please.

Cheers!

P.S - If this particular theory about Wyman/Mance/Jon has been discussed before, I sincerely apologize and would appreciate if the links to those discussions are posted below
