Absolutely perfect kick but what amazes me even more is the fact that fingers was so far infield. What the fuck was he doing?

68
truflebutaBrisbane Broncos•

Fingers thought it was for sure a grubber

25
TunzaI'M A STATS MAN•

Looked like he was prepared for a shorter kick or grubber. Maybe it was a coached strategy based on Qld usually going short or to Gavin Cooper.

thril_houShark Week Every Week•

I wonder if that was a set play? The Qld players were running through for a grubber, and it sucked in Ferguson, who was covering that because teddy was out of position having made the last tackle, so Holmes was then wide open.

Complex yet simple, just needed to be executed, and that it was.

Honestly, I've always wondered what the big deal about Cronk is, I always thought he was just elevated because he has always played with greats of the game.

Kicks like this are what showed me how good he is in his own right. It is the definition of a perfect in field kick. Perfectly read the defense, perfectly weighted the kick, If there is footy porn, this is it.

23
sexy_bethanyMelbourne Storm•

imo coops is better than JT

alshepsParramatta Eels•

eeehhh that's a bit of a stretch...

9
Cynical_and_confusedMelbourne Storm•

watch some of the previous 5 years of rep footy, and see who JT is taking instruction from, then ask yourself again if the above comment is a bit of a stretch

4†
alshepsParramatta Eels•

I have... and it's still a stretch

Look, I get it, Cronk plays for your team, so you automatically think he's the best, I really do get it. Purple coloured glasses are really comfortable to wear.

But watch JT turn a NRL game around single handedly, watch him practically carry the entire Cowboys team on his back. I'm by no means a Cowboys or QLD supporter, but credit where credit is due. JT will be an immortal, you can put your house on it. Cronk? not so much I don't think.

Remember, I'm not saying Cronk isn't good, he is Brilliant. But in no way is he better than JT.

10
SkathenBrisbane Broncos•

That's a bit different. Smith and Cronk are born leaders of men. JT is individually unmatched.

Cronk is execution, timing, set plays, calm and collected.

JT is the guy who pulls off voodoo and snatches victory from the jaws of defeat.

JT has at one point or another won pretty much every RL award that he was eligible for, including 2 golden boots, 3 Dally M player of the year, 6 Dally Ms for halfback/five-eighth, etc.

Cronk is a fantastic halfback, but an immortal? I think not, not yet anyway. JT has that in the bag.

9
suisidexManly-Warringah Sea Eagles•

I can't believe this has actually been upvoted.

JT is a step above Cronk and so is Smith.

8
kroxigor01Brisbane Broncos•

Reputation and fear for a playmaker is a double edged sword. Being "under the radar" and "the boogie man" can both be good and bad things.

Cronk more often gets to subtly fool a relaxed defense while JT makes the defense hyper aware to the point of panic.

Every time a try like this is scored it makes me wonder why some "experts" believe tries from kicks should be worth less points. This is just as skillful as any pass or run.
