Please help me figure out what I saw
Hello, I apologize in advance as this will be a little long. It is not uncommon for me to stay up all night so about a week ago at around 3:30 am I had a urge to go outside, which was weird as I don't go outside this late. I went to my backyard and laid down and started watching the stars. I would like to say at this point I was not a believer, see I always figured aliens and UFO's were a way to make money from tourists. (Sorry) Anyhow almost immediately after I started watching the sky I saw a shooting star I thought to myself "That's cool" and I continued to watch for some time. I saw a few planes go by and I could see lots of stars. About 30 minutes into watching I was beginning to get bitten by mosquitoes and so I was about ready to head inside when I had the urge to say something, I don't know why I said it, it just felt like the right thing to do. I said "I know you're up there, please show me yourself. I won't hurt you."
About 5 seconds after I said that I saw a large object fly past the sky, this object was LARGE, about the size of my thumb if I put it up to the sky and it was moving very very fast. I had just watched a plane go by and this object moved 100x faster than the plane. It was glowing orangeish red, I figured it was a shooting star. (I don't know much terminology about this subject) maybe a comet? I just figured it was something coming in and burning up, but after thinking about it for a while it was very low compared to say a plane, and the first shooting star I saw was very high like the stars, it also had a whiteish color not orange/red. The object didn't move in a straight line, it moved around weirdly. I have drawn what it looked like to me in paint, sorry for the bad drawing. The object vanished in the middle of the sky.
I didn't think too much about it and continued watching for another 30-45 minutes to see if I could see anything else, I didn't. I said what I had said before several more times to see if I could recreate it. So after this I started to head inside, as I was walking around my house I saw a very bright object in the sky right above the tree line. It was so bright, brighter than anything else in the sky and comparable to a street lamp. I just stood in my tracks, it was fear, I don't know why, but I couldn't move. The object was too high to be a street lamp and so after thinking about it for a few minutes I made the conclusion it was something on a cell tower or something similar so I managed to walk inside. I have a large window in my front room so I watched the object for a few hours.
It was very bright white, like a star but much brighter, after watching it for a few minutes it started to move. But not very far, it moved up, down, and side to side. I thought a cellphone tower can't move like that and a plane can't go up and down then move to the sides like that either. It was at this point I thought I was watching a UFO. It was very terrifying. It stayed in one part of the sky above the tree line. I felt like every time I would look away it would try and move away from me. Like it didn't want me to see it fly off or something. So I continued to watch it until the sun came up. It was now around 6 am and I could no longer see any other stars as it was starting to get light but I could still see this object clear as day.
I had checked the weather before I went outside and we had clear skies with 0 chance of rain, but at this time around 6AM a very weird storm came in, they were very dark/grey clouds and it only sprinkled a tiny bit, but at one point a dark cloud went over the object and after the cloud passed the object was gone. This happened over a 5 minute period or so. Then the sky began to clear up, it was very strange. So the next night I looked in the same direction to see if it was in fact a tower of some kind but I have not seen the bright light since.
At this point I will tell you I live in La Crosse, KS, about right in the middle of Kansas. The object was in the East of the sky. I also experienced another weird thing, I have a very old Note 3 cell phone and the camera sucks, but I turned down the exposure and I noticed little white dots all over the screen that would come and go. I like to study radiation and it looked like x-rays were hitting my sensor. I'm not 100% sure, however I looked up some videos online of people exposing cameras to high doses of radiation and they get white dots or like TV static on the image. Identical to my experience just a lot less dots. However after reviewing the footage on my computer the white dots are gone. So i'm not sure what I captured there.
I would like help in determining if what I saw was a UFO or some planet/shooting star/etc. See after this event I have been very scared. I have always had to sleep with my lights off, zero light or I can't sleep. I have to turn my phone down so the charge light doesn't keep me up, i'm that sensitive, but since this event I have been sleeping with the light on. I lock my bedroom door which is new and when I exit in the morning I peak out very slowly to make sure nothing is there, it has me really freaked out. When I look at pictures online I get cold blood and goose bumps it has instilled a lot of fear into my and is controlling my life. So I would like someone to say, "Your going mental" or something because I really don't want to believe in UFO's/Aliens. I attempted to get a photo of this light but my camera would not pick it up, like I said it's pretty old and doesn't work at night, but this light was so bright i'm surprised I didn't get anything out of the 20+ photos I took, they all look black. I am now 100% scared of the dark, to the point where I have reversed my sleeping patterns and now I stay up all night and go to bed when the sun comes out. It’s pretty unhealthy and I want it to stop but each day it gets worse.
Any help would be much appreciated and again I apologize for the length, I just wanted to cover everything in case the little details mattered. Thank you!
