Government spending on healthcare

The government spends 4 times as much money on female specific cancers than they do male specific cancers. Even though men die 5 years earlier than women, and are more likely to die from cancer. More federal dollars are still spend on female specific cancers. "The smaller funding for men's health research is a paradox given their average life expectancy is just 79.7 compared to 84.2 for women. And the fact that one in two Australian men will be diagnosed with cancer by the age of 85 compared to only 1 in 3 Australian women." Why do men always seem to get the short end of the stick? Is it because society views males as disposable, and tries to protect women?
