would you consult a psychologist?

"And We will try you with something of fear and hunger, and loss of wealth and lives, and fruits; but give glad tidings to the patient." (Sura Baqrah verse 156)

I would like to know if religious people regardless of their spiritual believes would ever consult a psychologist to whom they can talk to in order to control their inner territory of feelings and thoughts? Would you as a strong believer of the Decree of God and His sacred plans try to figure out what is going on. As muslims we often remind ourselves during afflictions that there must be a valid reason behind everthing; a plan we are unaware of. Even when we pray Istikhara we do ask the Almighty God to grant us from His immense knowledge and make us accept the outcome of the prayers done for a spesific task or project. And there is another prayer where believers seek refugee from asking about something they do not know about. I feel content with this part and the fact that there is such immense wisdom behind every plan of God. But how does a thinking human being deal with this without going insane? Prayers are the answer to most of these questions as we develop a barrier against negativity and pessimism. And when our hearts feel at ease we are more likely to handle the situation wether we are believers or non-believers.

In the long run, should one consult a psychologist for psycho-therapy and cognitive therapy? OR would you rather talk to an Imam/Murabbi? And does questioning the reason for everthing lead one to dis-belief?
