How does biblical submission benefit wives?

So I get that wives are supposed to submit to husbands. I also get that husband's are supposed to love their wives. However, I still have a couple of unsolved questions that would help boost my faith a bit if I got answers to them.

How does wives submitting to husbands actually benefit them?

What I mean by that is this. If there is an argument, according to several articles I have read, if there is no resolution for the dispute then the husband is to make a choice by default. But how does that benefit the wife? It seems as if it is just a veto against her opinion. I feel as if it seems to benefit the husband just a bit more than a wife, as at the end of the day, many imply that he gets to be the primary desicion maker. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Anyway I can narrow down my concerns to these questions.

How does Biblical submission benefit the wife?

What is and what isn't biblical submission?

Does Biblical submission imply that the wife"s input into family matters is worth less than that of the husband's? When I say that I mean, why is it the husband that gets the veto over everything, it seems?

Does submitting hold a wife back in any way?

Edit: I should probably say I am aware that submission is voluntary and a husband shouldn't force it, but that isn't what I am trying to get answers to.

Edit 2: this is probably a bit (well, okay, very) late but I should probably state that I am male. However, this topic still raises a couple of questions which, as of me writing this edit, have been answered. Sorry if I have confused anyone, I'm not disregarding anyone's opinions as a result.

I should also say, thanks for the replies! This has been useful in answering my questions. So thanks!
