Scanned content not showing up?

From watching YouTube videos I've seen that after scanning your nes folder for example a little nes controller shows up with all your game underneath it, but after my scan completes nothing happens and when I click on load content/collections there's nothing, I have to navigate through several folders to boot a rom. I'm using a Nvidia Shield Tv.
