Best thrift stores to donate used items?

I'm moving apartments soon and looking to downsize quite a bit. Can anyone recommend a good non-religious thrift store that supports a good cause? I have a lot of clothes, small furniture, kitchen items, and books. Williamsburg/Bushwick or East Village/LES is preferable. Thanks!
