Seeking advice for an aspiring Community Manager.
Hoping this is the right sub to solicit advice. I've been in the working world for about a year now (graduated in May 2016) working as an account coordinator for a digital ad agency. While my current position has given me a lot of translatable skills to community management, it's just not in the same vertical.
I'd like to get into community management, but I'm not 100% sure where to begin. I don't feel as though I'm equipped to jump straight into a community management role, but I'd like to at least work immediately beneath one. Does anyone know what kind of position this might be, or where a solid place to seek this kind of job would be?
Eventually I'd like to get into the video game industry, but I'm not sure if the best path would be to get a foot in the door for the industry and then transition to community management, or vice versa.
Any advice is much appreciated!
