Wedding wine recommendations

Obviously this isn't the first post of its type, but figured making recommendations is always fun. I'm getting married in September and starting to look at wine for the event.

The menu:

PASSED APPETIZERS:

  • cedar planked local mussels (aioli, sea salt, citrus)

  • tomato fig toast (grilled bread, torn mozzarella, basils, olive oil)

  • lamb meatball (mint pistou*, harissa)

  • shaved summer squash flatbread from the wood oven (maitake mushrooms, spicy greens, crescenza, verbena, parmigiano reggiano)

FAMILY STYLE MEAL:

  • charred beet & plum salad (grilled bunching onions, herbs, pomegranate molasses)

  • saffron rice, pistachios (dried fruit and herbs)

  • whole grilled mcfarland springs trout (lemongrass, herbs, lemon wedges, olive oil, crunchy salt)

  • long-roasted pork shoulder (chimichurri, crispy fennel & onions)

  • crispy chickpea corn fritters (piperade sauce|plated individually for vegetarians)

  • blistered green beans (sungold tomato vinaigrette, sesame)

DESSERT:

  • best-of-season fruit pies

Budget: $20-30/bottle average (willing to spend more on a few if others come in less)

Both the food and the wine will be served family style. I was thinking of putting a few easy-to-like bottles on each table that would pair pretty well with any of the mains, and then on a side self-service bar having several more options for our guests who are more enthusiastic about trying pairings, exploring "interesting" wines, etc. Given this setup, no need to fit into "1 red 1 white" type restrictions - happy to get a few bottles of lots of different wines and everyone can have a unique experience.

Also worth noting that lots of our guests will be around the campsite the night before and after the wedding, so stuff that's good drinking on its own or with typical grilled camping food is a great bonus.
