Bass Lake vs. Pine Mt. Lake (Groveland)

Planning a trip to the Yosemite area with a group of 6. We've narrowed down our cabin / vacation rentals to two areas: Bass Lake (about 15 mi outside the park's S. gate) and the Pine Mt. Lake area of Groveland. All of our options are right on the respective lake, with great views, nice amenities etc. If you had to choose between Bass Lake or Pine Mt. Lake for your homebase, which would you choose and why? We will be venturing into the Yosemite Natl Park, as well as spending some RnR time at the cabin itself. Most interested in scenic immediate area and relatively easy/moderate outdoor activities/hikes for a mixed-generational group.
