Jazz Trombone players suck.

I play trombone and I love jazz. Coltrane, Wayne shorter, Coleman, miles, dolphy are my favorites. I've never had a true emotional connection to a trombonist. JJ definitely is musical and had his technique down, I just can't dig bebop all the time. I never felt like "wow I want to play like that". Same with Curtis fuller, carl Fontana, etc. closest I got was Andy Martin. I've truelly connected with trane and the others I mentioned. Does anyone else feel this way?
