Person pretending to be me on Kik has now gotten the cops called with my name associated

Today I received a message from a friend of mine saying they were sent Kik message screenshots with my name and me wanting to kidnap my friend. I've spoken to my friend and she knows it's not me because I spent time with her at her house when the kik convos were going on.

This person that is pretending to be me is someone I don't know and probably won't know. But the Kik convos said they called the cops and said I was after my friend.

To make this worse my friend performs music at bar gigs so I will be with her in public. As far as I know no photos of me were traded.

Do you think the cops are really going to look for me or someone with my name at the local bar gig? The person pretending to be me knew my schedule.

It's obvious if the cops show up they should believe me and my friend but what if they don't?

I also googled Kik tracing and apparently Kik stores their conversations in private and the police can't trace anything unless they get a search warrant but if it's private can they gain access to find out who this is?

I myself went to the police and explained what happened and I was told that if they don't know who it is they can't help me which seems like a load of BULL. What if this person is dangerous and is after me as well?
