Issue with smartcast google play music flickering since update

Ever since GPM chromecast updated to the new screen layout, my vizio m series (2016) just flickers the whole time it plays. Sound is fine but nonstop flickering.

I've only had this TV for a couple months so I'm new to a full troubleshoot. Is there some sort of reset I should do? Perhaps there's and update to the firmware I just haven't caught yet?

Normally with something like this I would reinstall but obviously with this model that's not an option

Is anyone else having this issue?
