Major Change (Econ to Comp Science)
So I'm attending UCONN Storrs this fall as a freshman, and I'm going in as an Economics major in the School of Liberal Arts and Sciences. However, a long time ago, I emailed beahusky about a major change to Comp Science since I don't really want to study Econ (I believe I put it as my second choice during the application process). Beahusky told me they couldn't honor the change at the time, so I decided I would wait until my orientation to address this situation.
Once I got to orientation (the one this past Monday-Tuesday, the very last one lol), I mentioned this to my adviser as we were picking my classes, and he said it's a tricky change since it would be a change of schools from Liberal Arts to Engineering. He told me my best bet would be to be an Econ major as of now, and for the Spring 2018 semester apply for the change to Computer Science, which is due by December 31st. Another lady mentioned I should take the MPE ASAP (I hadn't yet since I wasn't required to under Liberal Arts) and hope I get a 22 to be able to take Calc. Once I do that, I should start researching and emailing the engineering advisers about how to make my application look as nice as possible to be admitted into the School of Engineering. She said ask about what classes I should take and anything else to make the change possible. So my questions to reddit are, what else do you guys recommend I do, what classes should I take, and do any of you guys have the emails of the engineering advisers?
