Sentinel's death explosion killing me?

Playing a solo Survival on my Harrow in Assur and 10 or so minutes in, bam! I randomly die. Comes out of nowhere and I'm scratching my head wondering what the hell just happened. I count it as a freak accident or something and continue, 4 minutes later, bam! I die again.

Now I'm just getting annoyed, 2.8k overshields and level 50 enemies aren't going to nuke me that fast, ever. I have no clue what's going on. I go again, 5 minutes later, bam! 2.8k overshields and max hp gone in a split second with no chance at all. All I see is my sentinel blowing up at the same time.

So now here is my question, can the sentinels death kill you? I've faced this issue on more than just my Harrow, in fact this random death issue was one of the reasons I stopped playing the game for a long time. I have no clue how I'm dying, and the only link with all the cases is the fact that I'm using a sentinel.
