Has there been any word on the connectivity issues for EU players on the NA data centers?

Title. My friend has been unable to do much of anything on FF since the 4.01 update. I gave her the DNS fix someone else posted here on the subreddit. It worked for a little while but the lag still made doing anything instance OR combat related unplayable (she dc'd like four times just trying to kill an A Rank). All the DNS change really seemed to do was keep her connected but the game is still unplayable. She's already posted on the official forums concerning this but I can't seem to locate anything about a fix or even an acknowledgement of the issue. tl;dr Has SE addressed this or nah?
