Streaming a movie on Twitch - hosting?

Hey r/Twitch! My buddy has a movie that he created and he'd like to do a live stream of it to some private viewers. Twitch seems like it might be the right platform. He isn't concerned about monetizing the stream, he only wants to password protect the stream and be about to engage with the audience.

Can we host the video somewhere and stream it to Twitch, or do we need to stream it from our own PCs? We want to stream it at 1080 but there are bandwidth and stability concerns.
