Well, I've joined the ranks! New player, just got my first ukulele.

Hi all! Coming back to music after a really long absence and a severe overuse injury and impinged nerve in my right shoulder. I haven't played or sung anywhere for probably 4 years.

Yesterday, I went out with my folks and played in public with a ukulele group. I guess it's a small thing, but it was a big deal for me. After my mom let me play her Kala, (my dad has a tenor as well) I really fell in love with the ukulele and decided to get one.

So, I thought you all would like to see the Amahi I got yesterday as well. It has a solid spruce top and, as far as I can tell, spalted maple back and sides.

I really don't know anything about stringed instruments or ukuleles (I'm coming from a voice/piano/woodwind background), but I'm here, and I'm practicing again. :) Playing ukulele is the first music-related thing that's given me back the joy I had when was performing.
