Question from the curious.

Hello r/snakes! Been lurking for a while and reading up as much as I can before acting on my longtime wish to own a snake. But my predicament is I need to convince others in my household that they aren't the spawn of Satan himself. Here are some of the arguments I've had thrown my way...

"They'll eat small pets!" "They only think to kill and eat!" "They try to get out of their cages all the time!" "They have no thoughts of companionship!" "They stink!"

My biggest enemy has been a story of a little girl with her snake stretching out on her bed as far as possible to see if it could eat the girl. The validity of that story is hard to disprove since it was on facebook. /s
