Upgrading from an S7 to a 7+

I'm due for an upgrade from my S7 and am looking at getting a 7+ 256gb. As a lifelong Android guy this is all new to me. What are some subtle differences I'm gonna have to get use to and what are some things to look out for? I'm on the fence about an iPhone but starting to lean towards one as I've played with my girlfriend's 7+ and like some aspects about it but haven't done much research beyond that. Any advice/tips/help would be greatly appreciated.
