How did you know it was time to transition?
Hi everyone! I'm Macie. Quick backstory: I first became aware of my dysphoria at age 12, but home videos and memories have shown that it's always been there to some degree. One thing about my dysphoria since then is that it's always come in waves, I've even gone months without it.
To make a long story short: I was undergoing therapy and two years ago had reached the point of almost starting hormones phase, and had a timeline as to when I was going to start that process, and come out to my family and friends. For one valid and several probably not so valid, I decided not to transition and deal with the dysphoria for the rest of my life. However, very recently I had the worst bout of dysphoria I've ever had, it felt like my true self was screaming to be let out louder than she had ever before. It was so loud that it was distracting, and causing me to feel isolated and depressed. I began to seriously doubt if I made the right choice, however since praying about it, the dysphoria has calmed down to it's more regular intensity for me. That only confused me even more if I made the right choice or not.
I guess my questions are this: Is it always going to be like this if I don't transition? How did you know it was time for you? In other words, when was the point that you said "no more" and decided to just woman-up (sorry, couldn't resist) and begin transitioning?
