How to set boundaries with an older roommate?

My SO and I (we're in our mid 20s) rent a room from a woman in her 60s. She has no concept of privacy or boundaries and consistently acts like my mother instead of a roommate.

We always keep our door closed whether we're home or not and instead of knocking (figuring shit out herself) she just yells, "Hey, DudeBored? You home?" I have tried the following responses:

  1. Running out to see what she needs. not helpful. Builds dependency.

  2. Yelling back "what?" and waiting for a reply. not helpful. Starts yelling match.

  3. Ignoring her/pretending to be asleep. moderately successful but not a long term solution

  4. Saying, "I can't come out right now." not helpful. She replied "but I just have one question"

Relevant info: everything she says sounds like a text post from r/ShitNsSay
