Question about Philippine Airlines luggage

So in a couple of weeks I'm taking a flight from NYC to Manila airport and just wanted to ask if I'd be able to bring a backpack or drawstring bag along with my carry on luggage. According to the website each traveler is allowed one carry on luggage and one small handbag. Would my drawstring bag qualify as a handbag, if not what kind of bag would qualify as a handbag instead? P.s. I'm a guy so that's why I don't want to bring a purse as a handbag lol
