Would we be able to see the past souls of animals?

This is coming from someone who hasnt successfully ap'd before, so i wouldnt know personally. I know there was a thread on here recently talking about animals ap'ing, to which they can. So i was wondering if we would be able to visit those who have past, like we could normal humans? Just curious to see if i could visit my deceased cats or not.
