Swimming spots/things to do in the Lyndon/Sheffield/St. Johnsbury area?

My wife and I are up in Lyndon for the week. We live and work in the Rutland/Manchester area, but we've never been up north. We were both supposed to be taking a grad class at Lyndon for the week, so we rented a cottage. Then the funding for mine fell through so I've got the week free. I'm not super outdoorsy but I like swimming and light hiking, plus anything food, craft beer, and woodworking-related. We visited Hill Farmstead yesterday but I'm definitely going to go back later in the week. I'd love to know about any nice swimming spots (rivers, waterfalls, lakes, etc. Anything where I can jump in), breweries, restaurants, parks, etc to check out.
