PROLOGUE The back of my head firmly wrestled with the soft shards of grass as I laid down, soaking up the verdant nature of the land. A soft sigh escaped my lips as I began to rest silently... and it was then that I heard it. A faint whistle echoed through the emerald canopy, rustling the leaves in the process. I watched as these miniscule emerald leaflets flowed from their home, getting caught in the endless winds of time itself – forever taken from their home. I curiously pondered to myself whether trees had a consciousness, or if they were just another spectacle of growth that somehow grew upon the land to satisfy us. The ghostly tune continued through the forest, taking more leaves with it as it crept along... surely there had to be something more meaningful to this act of nature – what was the purpose? I shrugged off these thoughts, figuring they could be used to spark a good conversation with Professor Shrikk at the tavern later tonight. I closed my eyes, soaking in the fresh scent of the forest – I had drifted off to sleep.

I awoke from my nature-induced nap a few hours later, catching a glimpse of the sun starting to settle along the infinite ocean horizon. I hurried up and gathered my things as I rushed back to my cabin. Scurrying along various creeks and dodging several trees on my journey, I had finally arrive to my humble abode – hand-built by the wife and I. Of course, she was sitting outside at the tanning rack preparing some more hide as I came running out of the forest – hehe, I'll never forget the look she gave me for being out so long. She had asked me if I met with that real young lady that works at the tavern and slept with her, but I shook my head and told her I didn't sleep with that girl, but with nature. She looked at me and rolled those sea-blue eyes of hers as she continued to work at the tanning rack. We had been together for a few years at this point and we were still madly in love. I walked up to her and smiled, embracing her in my arms. This day couldn't have gotten any better – I was truly experiencing a moment of pure happiness... and then it was taken from me. A bright flash lit up the twilight sky, almost as bright as the sun. My wife and I gazed up at the spectacle in amazement but also horror. The bright flash of light faded only slightly, leaving an orb of light that still lit up a good portion of the sky.

Within only a matter of minutes, the orb began to change its hue to a dark crimson – and then came the screech. A loud, mechanical screech suddenly filled our ears... deafening us, it seemed like. I looked back at my wife, seeing the terror-filled expression she had on her. The hovering orb of crimson then began to barrel down from the sky, leaving only a trail of flames as it began to enter into our atmosphere... and then the impact came. My wife and I stared down the hill towards the illuminated sea as the orb impacted directly into it, releasing a burst of energy. This wave of energy echoed through the forest, vaporizing everything in its path... it would be only a matter of seconds before we were caught in this ungodly trap. I turned from the horrifying doom that encroached, deciding that the last thing I wanted to look at was my wife. I held her tight as her face snugged down into my neck – we were scared. The vibrations of the land intensified with the intense roar that came bombarding from the energy wave. All I remember from that point on was blackness.

Rules

-No harassment or discrimination of any sort outside of the game boundaries/roleplay. -No cheating, hacking, glitching, or taking advantage of any game exploits.
-No griefing outside of the game. IE: Sending volatile PSN messages to other players on the server due to something that happened on the game.
-Proper adherence to the naming policy/unrealistic character model policy.
Any infractions on these rules are subject to a hearing where our administrative team will review the case. If an infraction has occurred, you will be disciplined based on the severity of the crime. We have a ZERO TOLERANCE on outside harassment, so if it is proven that you have harassed someone outside of the game, you will be banned from the server.

SERVER DESCRIPTION

Here at Katira PvPRP, we believe in creating a unique gaming experience for our member-base. By utilizing the open-world PvP environment and incorporating roleplaying guidelines, we have provided our members an extremely interactive and immersive gameplay experience. We believe in laying the foundation for a storyline and letting our members build upon it to develop their own story. Whether you want to create your own barbaric tribe, create a cult dedicated to one of the ultimate lifeforms or be a lone traveler, the opportunity is there for you. We have a plethora of community wide events that are hosted from our amazing administrative team as well as from other players also. Our story is constantly changing, and now you have a chance to become part of it.

As far as the actual server rates go, we want to ensure that our members are playing in an environment that is not a complete grind, but also not an instant base-building extravaganza. We have boosted our server settings by 3 times to ensure that everything is at a decent balance. Taming is a bit different, considering we've boosted that up slightly more – it's not an instant tame, but most things are tamed within thirty minutes to an hour.

ADMIN POLICY

We believe in maintaining as much of an immersive experience as we possibly can. We have an amazing administrative team that has been fueling this project for quite a while – and as such they are here to not only enjoy everything we worked hard for, but to also ensure your gaming experience is enjoyable as well. Our administrative team is subject to constant logging checks at randomized times to ensure they are not abusing/cheating. If you experience a negative experience from one of our admins or suspect cheating, feel free to contact the server owner.

NAMING AND UNREALISTIC CHARACTER MODEL POLICY

By now you should understand that we are all about immersion – and as such we have incorporated a roleplay-oriented guideline to maintain that. Nicknames and realistic names are completely acceptable – the only names we don't want to see are names such as "Cutiepie93" or "Sexymomma7." The naming policy only goes for your Ark character, not your actual username. When creating your character, we understand that the game allows us to make some funny characters that have short, skinny legs and a massive torso with huge forearms. Unproportionate characters will not be allowed on the server – make a realistic-looking character please. Dwarves, midgets, or giants are completely acceptable, so long as their limbs are proportionate.

TRADE ZONE

We have also incorporated a trade zone in the server which acts as a neutral zone for trade, located outside of the castle walls. In this location tribes can come together and trade freely with one another without risk of death... while inside the trade zone's walls, that is.

HOW DO I JOIN?

The server will be publicly hosted starting on July the 19th. Public hosting will go on a trial-by-trial basis and is subject to change if we see any issues. Our administrators will be hard at work to ensure compliance with server rules/guidelines.
