Newly Diagnosed.

Hello,

I was officially diagnosed in December. I had been diagnosed with ADHD in middle school (so long ago), but later was told it was a misdiagnosis when I received my Borderline diagnoses (people with BPD often get misdiagnosed with Bipolar or ADHD).

Anyway, I still felt I was exhibiting traits of ADHD and even Autism, so I went and got tested. Turns out I have NVLD. Now, a lot of stuff makes sense to me. Why I have such a hard time reading maps, why I have trouble fitting the details into the bigger picture, why I have trouble generalizing information, etc.

Right now I'm in school getting my education degree. The class I'm doing now is "Mathematical Reasoning in the Elementary Grades: Algebra, Geometry, & Statistics," and it's so frustrating. We are on geometry now and I feel so lost and stupid. I know I'm not stupid, but it's hard not to feel that way sometimes.

Any way, hoping to meet and communicate with people who deal with this :)
