How do you deal with high cardinality features?

Hey guys,

Working on a regression at the moment with a mix of categorical and numerical features.

I was thinking of doing one hot encoding for categorical features, but I would be adding something on the order of 1100 new columns (my training data is about 36K so this may not be a big problem).

I was curious if you guys had other suggestions.
