Why do you think IT is attractive to people who have failed in other fields?
There's a trend where people who have somehow failed at a number of things in life end up thinking they want to start an IT career. Why do so many of these people think IT is the answer?
It's a fairly regular occurrence where someone will be like "I'm 33, never went to college, dropped out of high school, have no job, can I get some certs and do IT?"
All I can think of is that very basic desktop support seems accessible, so that makes people then feel the rest of the field is too.
