My Response to "Fixing" Mercy
Inspired by this post: https://www.reddit.com/r/Overwatch/comments/6nnnk1/unpopular_opinion_resurrect_doesnt_need_a/
Let me start out by saying that I am a support hero main with most of my game time played as Mercy (Miss Rez - get it? :D). I would be lying if I said I didn't enjoy playing Mercy how she is now, however I am not adverse to change when it means "leveling out the playing field." I have read many responses - some reasonable, some not - and have come to my own conclusion. I would love to hear your constructive feedback. :) Here are my two easy, reasonable adjustments to Mercy:
Mercy mains all over might want to throw stones at me for saying this, but the biggest way to adjust Mercy is to change the rate in which she gets her ult (ie: slow it down). Why is it that Zarya's powerful graviton takes awhile, yet Mercy's potentially game-changing resurrect does not?
This would ultimately help reduce our incidence of "one-trick Mercy's" by 1) forcing Mercy to spend more time being out healing her team to get her ult and less time hiding, and 2) making her be more consious of how/when to use her ult since she would not be able to regenerate ressurect so quickly.
It also wouldn't hurt to increase the time in which she begins to regenerate her health after not taking damage. This would not greatly decrease her survivability while also not making her seem unstoppable to other players.
