"I've been really horrified by right wing attempts to co-opt me and use my story to attack trans people or everyone who medically transitions or breaks gender norms. I hate that. The times that it has happened have upset me a whole lot and made me really depressed. These people who do that, they remind me of the people who made my life hell when I was younger, and made me feel that I couldn't be the kind of woman that I am, and now they want to say that I am fucked up for transitioning. They are the people that helped create the social conditions that cause a woman like me to transition, and they turn around and attack us for trying to survive. So I see the right as a huge threat to my safety and wellbeing and I think it is good to talk about what they are doing - what they're up to in general, since they're a huge threat - but also what they're doing specifically in terms of trying to co-opt detransitioned people and use us to attack other people."
