Has anyone ever helped a squirrel hat had "squirrel pox"

I came upon a squirrel in bad shape. It's eyes are swollen shut and it's missing fur all over. Everything I've looked up says that it's probably "squirrel pox" and that it will probably die from it. Animal control is closed on the weekends so I took it home and put it in a tank with towels,food,water, and an ice pack. I know animal control will probably put it down so I was wondering if anyone had a remedy for the poor thing.
