Soon-to-be law school graduate who might want to make the switch to teaching... Advice?

Hello! I'm a rising 3L and, after 2 internships and 2 summer jobs, I've realized that I don't really like law very much. I'm considering applying to clerkships for a year or two after graduation and then I am seriously considering switching to teaching, possibly high school history or community college-type level classes. I want advice on if this is a good idea or not. I majored in history and I miss it a lot.

Will my JD affect my chances of getting a job? Will I be overqualified with such an advanced degree? Or will it be an asset (I could teach government or something law-related)? Is teaching a good job? I've only ever taught up to 4th or 5th grade CCD and I liked it enough. My ultimate goal is to teach history during the school year and then live down at the shore and work as a waitress or something during the summer. Is this realistic?
