Maybe a stupid question?

I currently have a 27" Samsung monitor which is a 60hz. When I play some games my fps counter says 60fps but for other games I get different.

On average - Rocket league - 240fps Project cars - 1179fps Planet coaster - 110fps Etc.

Because my monitor is only 60hz Am I really getting those fps?
