The Song from the Army of the Dead trailer

I've noticed many people asking for somebody to identify the song from the trailer, and I figured I'd get a post out there so more people can know.

I recognized it as "Edelweiss", a song from the 1965 Musical "The Sound of Music". https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8bL2BCiFkTk

At first glance, there could be no significance taken from this but on closer inspection there definitely is something very narratively interesting about the inclusion of this song in the trailer.

The film is set during the Nazi annexation of Austria in 1938, and focuses on the family of an Austrian Naval Captain's family, and their relationship. The song is named after the Edelweiss (Noble White) flower, which is a metaphor for Austria. Pretty much the point of the song was that even if Nazi Germany annexed Austria, Austria would live on in the hearts of Austrians.

And considering the location of Army of the Dead being in Mittleberg, Austria, it's very plausible this is an intentional correlation.

This might tell us a bit about our main characters, and their motivation. This is all just conjecture but it really has me thinking about what this could mean for the story.
