Will I have any luck at OCI if I'm ranked between top 33% and top 50%?

Background: Im at a school ranked between 40-60.

From my understanding OCI is a lock for those in the top 5-10%. Those in the top 25% fair well and those in the top 33% can be a stretch. I am going to do OCI, but I am currently around top 40%.

So for all intents and purposes I am only top 50% and its nothing to indicate and its not something that is going to set me apart. Is OCI a waste of time for someone that is in the top 50% but not in the top 33%?
