Looking to invest in a laptop to use for work, ~$1900, USA

Valid Form

So both my old laptop and desktop finally gave in and I need to invest in a new computer. Hopefully, y'all can help me!

  • Total budget and country of purchase:

Max is around $1900 & USA

  • Do you prefer a 2 in 1 form factor, good battery life or best specifications for the money? Pick or include any that apply.

Looking for something with a great graphics card/ RAM since I'll be running many programs at once and large files, great color accuracy, and also looking for pretty good battery life.

  • How important is weight and thinness to you?

Not too big or heavy, but these are not very important factors

  • Which OS do you require? Windows, Mac, Chrome OS, Linux.

Windows

  • Do you have a preferred screen size? If indifferent, put N/A.

In the 15"-17" range.

  • Are you doing any CAD/video editing/photo editing/gaming? List which programs/games you desire to run.

The most important thing will be that this laptop has to handle and run multiple design/video editing//3D programs smoothly without lag. Softwares I'll be using at a daily basis: Adobe Photoshop, illustrator, indesign, Autodesk Maya, blender, After Effects, Flash and more.

  • If you're gaming, do you have certain games you want to play? At what settings and FPS do you want?

Don't do much gaming.

  • Any specific requirements such as good keyboard, reliable build quality, touch-screen, finger-print reader, optical drive or good input devices (keyboard/touchpad)?

Don't really need fancy extras like fingerprint reader or touchpads since I usually like to use my own peripheral devices.

  • Leave any finishing thoughts here that you may feel are necessary and beneficial to the discussion.

Main things I'm looking for:

-Able to run multiple softwares smoothly

-Fast, reliable

-Great graphics card

-Handles large project files

-Color accuracy

I've been looking at the Dell XPS 15 with 16gb of ram. Is this a good one? I'm willing to spend a couple of hundred dollars more since I'd like to make this a good investment. I'd like this to be my main work station (where I can hook up my monitor) for a few more years until I upgrade. Thanks for your help! Sorry for any formatting issues.
