is Kyle's Megapack worth it?

apologies if this is not allowed / a dumb question. I'm a digital artist looking for some simple, painterly-style textured brushes and i've heard nothing but good things about Kyle's Megapack ( https://gumroad.com/l/HKgA ). I think $18 for like 250 brushes is a great deal, but the thing is I've tried to use big sets of brushes before and I couldn't really get the hang of using hundreds of them - I really only want ~3 brushes that are versatile and have a certain textured feeling.

Normally I wouldn't hesitate after seeing great recommendations by a lot of artists I look up to, but I feel like with brushes it's a hit or a miss for me and I'm not sure if $18 is worth it.

My question is - has anyone here used the megapack or other kyle brushes, and can attest to how versatile they are? or are there any cheaper alternatives out there for just one or two simple acrylic-like brushes? thanks!
